Day 9

Neuschwanstein

We will leave the hotel at 8:00 AM after breakfast to embark on a journey you have always dreamed of—dreams can come true! Our nearly two-hour journey will take us to Neuschwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig II.

You must see it to believe the incredible creativity from that era. Upon arrival, you can choose to either take a 40-minute climb to the castle or opt for a horse-drawn carriage ride up the hill.

Alternatively, there is a shuttle bus that will take you to a point where you will walk over a bridge to reach the castle.

Castle Tour

After the castle tour, we will have a brief stop at one of the local spots for a refreshing drink and a bite to eat. Our tour will then continue to Linderhof Castle, which requires us to cross into Austria.

During this leg of the journey, we’ll travel along the beautiful Plansee and aim to integrate a stop for a drink, snack, and possibly a boat ride amid the stunning mountain scenery it’s magical!

Schloss Linderhof is the only castle that King Ludwig completed, and it is entirely different from Neuschwanstein and Herren Chiemsee (which, unfortunately, is not included in our itinerary).

In the late afternoon, we continue our journey to Garmisch, where we will overnight at the Hotel Königshof, with a planned dinner at the Wildschütz in the inner city.
